Program Description:

The objective of the Westside Community Center 21st Century program is to enhance the regular school day through high-quality academic and personal enrichment in the core content areas of reading, mathematics and science with a focus on literacy, as well as support literacy development and other educational services to the families of regularly participating students. All services and activities provided are No Cost to the students and their families.

  • Boys & Girls Club Personal Enrichment (SMART Moves, SMART Kids, Start SMART, SMART Girls, Passport to Manhood and Triple Play) 
  • Personal Enrichment (Spanish, Photography, Drumline, Drama, Hair Braiding, Domatics, Dance, High Step Team and more) 
  • Monthly Family Engagement workshops and activities to increase self-sufficiency and serve as a resource in their children’s education.

In order to promote a culture of self-worth for our students, we developed a logo and slogan. 
Students are encouraged to take PRIDE (Personal Responsibility In Delivering Excellence) in themselves, their families, their community and whatever they aspire to achieve!
