Middle School Science

SCPS Middle School Science has its foundation in the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for Science. Through the use of hands-on inquiry, digital resources, and content literacy, students are exposed to a variety of experiences in order to continue their development as scientists.  In preparation for the 8th grade Statewide Science Assessment, all grade levels are working on generating deep and meaningful scientific understanding while encouraging students to see connections in the natural world. Currently, exciting revisions are taking place to the Middle School science curriculum which will be released in 17-18.

High School Science

Welcome!  Teachers in our district have been working together to develop new and exciting curricula for high school science based on the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards.  The final Instructional Plans that resulted from these collaborations have been made available here so that all educators and our community partners can see the strength of SCPS science. The purpose of these Instructional Plans is to ensure high quality, standards-based science instruction in every middle and high school in the district.
